Obituary for Georges Joseph Albert Gagnon

Georges Joseph Albert Gagnon who passed away on January 20, 2023 came from a family of 16 siblings. George had two siblings who passed at birth, and grew up in a close relationship with his remaining 14 siblings.

George is survived by his wife Lita; his two sons Daniel and William; his only surviving brother Reggie; his step-daughters Lorna, Ofelia, Rowena, Nelia; numerous nieces and nephews; and step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

George had a handful of things that he often spoke of with pride. For over three decades he worked as a missionary worker in Belize. His street ministry “Christ in You. The Hope of Glories Ministries Inc.”, miracles he personally witnessed, and his wife whose picture he would show to complete strangers. On his last day he spent working on his street ministry even though the night before he was already having problems breathing.

George often talked about miracles he had witnessed, and had said he saw Jesus Christ appear to him, and said he got his direct word from Jesus Christ. He wrote a book about his interpretation of the Bible in 2007. He printed more of this same book in 2021. He would hand these books out to the people he ministered to. He would get very excited when he talked about his missionary days, and his street ministry. These two things were his drive to keep going outside even when the weather was not so nice. He also spent many years sitting at the Winnipeg Airport praying that the airplanes would have safe trips.

George lived his life on his terms, and at the end he was found with his hands to his face as if he was praying again.
