Obituary for Ernestine Poersch (Sheptack)
It is with great sadness that we announce that our dear mother and grandmother passed away November 3, 2022 at the age of 83.
She was born in Dauphin, Manitoba to Bill and Anne Sheptack. She and her sisters Marcella and Diana grew up in Ashville and Gilbert Plains, Manitoba. Upon graduation from Brickburn Collegiate she moved to Winnipeg. She married her husband Gordon Poersch in 1963.
She was predeceased by her parents Anne and Bill; stepfather Michael; her husband Gordon; brothers in Law Ron and Floyd; and her niece Trudy. She is survived by her daughter Shannon and her husband Mark; her beloved grandchildren Erin and Kelsey; her sisters Diana and Marcella; stepsister Amelia; sister-in-law Sherron, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She will be remembered for her warm hospitality, great cooking, and sewing abilities, and for the parties she threw. She will be missed by her relatives and friends she met through her work at the CBC, her neighbours, and those she met through social functions. She was a kind and generous person who loved her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.
She loved spending time travelling to Mexico, Costa Rica and to their cottage at Moose Lake.
As per her wishes no funeral will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. She will be cremated and her ashes spread close to Gordon’s.
