Obituary for Elizabeth 'Betty' Leocadia Richardson

Elizabeth (Betty) Leocadia Richardson

(nee Francis)

We, the family of Betty Richardson, are saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, December 15, 2012.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold, parents, Elizabeth and Albert Francis, brother, James Francis, sisters, Jocelyn (Ray) Botterill and Dorothy Francis.

Betty is survived by her brother, Ted (Pat) Francis, sister-in-law, Lynn Francis as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was born on March 14, 1917 in Blantyre, Scotland and moved to Canada at a young age. Betty was living in Vancouver when she met Harold, and they were married in May of 1951. They then, moved back to Winnipeg and bought a cottage at Winnipeg Beach, where they moved to upon retirement. Betty enjoyed ballet dancing, loved watching sports on tv and had a golf membership for many years.

We would like to thank the staff at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg for taking such good care of Betty. Betty kept a positive attitude, in spite of her health issues, and was happy, living to 95 years of age.

In keeping with Betty?s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at a later date.
