1939-2013


After a courageous battle with cancer, Elizabeth Michaud passed away on June 20th, at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 73.

Elizabeth will be sadly missed by her children Guy (Moira), Suzanne (Robert), René, Brigitte (Dennis), Angèle (Douglas), and their father Lévi. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Kelly (Dev), Darrel (Amanda), Karl, Julien, Jeffery, Patrick, Nataly, Pamela, Geneviève , Liam, Jordan and her six great-grandchildren. Also surviving Elizabeth are her brothers and sisters, Solange, Alix, Thérèse, Rose, Marie, Eliane (Léo), Gérard (Lucille), Yolande (Guy) and sister-in-law Hélène.

Elizabeth was born in La Broquerie, MB, on July 18, 1939 to Eugene and Dora Simard. She was the second youngest of 14 children. Elizabeth grew up in La Broquerie and later raised her family in Ste. Anne. She was very proud of her family and loved to tell others about them. Elizabeth was always involved in her community and church no matter where she lived.

Maman avait une grande foi et une dévotion spéciale à Marie. Pour elle ,la famille et la musique étaient centrales à sa vie. Quand Élizabeth sortait sa guitare on savait que le party venait de commencer. Tu as été une mère exemplaire ayant toujours tes enfants à c?ur. Reposes toi bien au Ciel et continue à veiller sur nous.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
