Obituary for Eduardo Manuel Andrade

EDUARDO ANDRADE

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father on Monday, March 15.

He is survived by his three children, eldest son Jorge (Jaime) and his three children Nicholas, Katrina and Londyn; daughter Monica (Joseph) her two children Lucas and Miles; and youngest son Samuel (Pauline). He was predeceased by his dear wife Isabel Andrade, brother Louis Andrade, along with both his Parents, Joao and Valdomira Andrade.

Eduardo was born in Sao Miguel Azores Portugal and was one of five siblings. Dad was a very devoted and hardworking man and had been from a very young age. He made the journey to Winnipeg in 1980 like many other immigrants looking for a better life for himself and his family, leaving behind his parents and siblings to follow his love to Canada. He frequently spoke to his dear sister Saozinha in Portugal, along with his favourite aunt in Ontario, Isabel Machado.

Dad worked many years in construction, until the untimely passing of our dear mother, which made him make the switch to work Monday-Friday by joining Maple Leaf Foods. He made this decision solely with knowing he had young kids to raise and that they would need their dad at home more than the grueling time away construction had. Dad never remarried and when asked, it always came back to us kids. He knew our mother’s passing was very hard on each of us and he wanted us to be as happy as possible. Dad was a huge fan of Sporting Club de Portugal, watching games right until his final days. Dad was overjoyed to spend time with his five grandchildren, often who could completely turn a sad day around for him with their visit. He loved Christmas and gave us beautiful memories of the lavish dinner he proudly made yearly for our gathering. He loved going back home to visit his siblings and looked forward to retirement to do it more freely. He was a man full of wisdom and lessons we are lucky enough to have learned from.

Dad, there was no sacrifice or hardship made that went unnoticed. You gave us a great life and a legacy to carry on forever in your memory.

In keeping with dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and due to restrictions on public gatherings a private family service will be held.

descanse em paz pai. cuidar de todos nós. vamos levá-lo conosco em tudo o que fazemos. nós te amamos.
