Obituary for Cecile Marie Landreville (Deschouwer)

Cecile Marie Landreville
(nee: Deschouwer)

April 2, 1931 – October 15, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, and Great Grandma Cecile Landreville, 90 years of age at Seven Oaks Hospital on October 15 surrounded by her family. Mom was born in St. Alphonse, Manitoba, grew up in Mariapolis, married and moved to Winnipeg.

Mom leaves to cherish her memory her children: Bonnie (Larry) MacTavish, Debbie, Jackie (Gilles) Bazin, Colette (Rene) Hebert and Joseph (Joelle); also her grandchildren Kristen (Devon Hurst), Danielle (James McRae), Patrick and Chantal Hebert, as well as Kaitlyn, Stephanie and Brett Landreville, and her great-grandsons Colin and Nathan Hurst, and Jaxson McRae. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Lorette Deschouwer (Albert), Irene Landreville (Prosper), as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Fred, her parents Arthur and Julia Deschouwer (nee Roeland) and her two brothers Albert and Lou (sister-in-law Wilma), and godchild Wayne Deschouwer.

Mom was a gentle, caring, hard working woman who dedicated her life to raising her children because ‘Family was Everything’. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was a very important part of her being. She allowed us, her children to make our own choices, never criticizing and always supporting us. She instilled the value of hard work in each one of us.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Riverside Lions Seniors Residence for friendship and support they shared with our mom.

Cremation has taken place. Due to covid restrictions, a private funeral service has been held, followed by interment at St. Boniface Cemetery.

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk with us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.”
