Mom was born in Eindhoven, Netherlands. She married Dad in 1947 and they had 7 sons. They immigrated to Canada in 1954 and made their home in Winnipeg. Family was important to Mom. She was happiest when we were all together. Mom?s memory was sharp, even at age 90. She remembered dates, birthdays, anniversaries and lots of family history. Mom was a great cook no matter how large the crowd that dropped in for dinner. She was a fantastic mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom?s faith was strong. She showed us how to grow up to be good citizens, to love each other and to help those in need. She taught us to always pray to the Lord and receive strength through our faith. Church was a must every Sunday. Mom, we will always love you and we will never forget you. God bless you!

The family wishes to send a special thanks to family doctor, Dr. Kevin Coates for his care for Mom for many years, Dr. Burke and the staff at Tuxedo Villa, and Dr. Martin and Janice Nesbitt from Palliative Care.

Reciting the Rosary and viewing will be held for anyone wishing to say a personal farewell on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg.
