It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Carolina on January 22 at the age of 98. After 16 long years Giuseppe her beloved husband, the love of her life called her home.

Carolina leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vincenzina Masi, Saverio (Dora) Masi, Arcangela (Roberto) Galli; Grandchildren, Maria (Greg) Fiorentino, Sandra (Brian) Ugrin, Joe (Heather) Scerbo, Tom Scerbo, Andrea Masi (George) Dare, Lucio Masi, Sabrina Masi, Rodolfo (Mariana) Galli, Gabriella (Roberto) Winter, Daniel (Gladys) Galli, Carolina (Vince) Gabrielli, Roberto (Laura) Galli; Great-Grandchildren, Fabio and Carina Fiorentino, Teo and Elio Ugrin, Rio and Ariel Scerbo, Tano Scerbo, Alexandria and Michael Masi-Dare, Alejandro and Nicolas Galli, Eric and Candela Winter, Sergio, Walter and Jacky Galli, Ariana and Marina Gabrielli and Lucas Galli; Sister, Maria Masi and Sister-In-Law, Natalina Scerbo as well as many nieces, nephews and friends here in Winnipeg, Kamploops, Italy, Australia and Argentina.

Carolina was predeceased by her parents, Maria and Tommaso Scerbo, Brothers, Pietro, Francesco, and Arcangelo, Sister, Carmela and Brother?in?laws, Francesco Cappellano and Antonio Masi, Grandson, Javier Masi and Great-Grandson, Lucas Ugrin.

Carolina was born in Amato, Italy on December 8, 1914. She married Giuseppe in 1939. In 1952 Carolina and her three children immigrated to Argentina to join her beloved Giuseppe who had gone ahead of them to get settled. They lived there for 24 years until they immigrated to Winnipeg in 1976 where they reunited with their daughter, Vincenzina and family. Slowly over the years her other children would immigrate to Winnipeg as well. It gave her great joy, after so many years, to have her family together again.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow the Mass, in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street.

Pallbearers will be Joe and Tom Scerbo, Lucio Masi, Rodolfo, Daniel and Roberto Galli.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Lucia, Greg Fiorentino and Brian Ugrin.

In lieu of flowers we kindly ask that you donate to a charity of your choice.

The family wishes to thank the staff of ward 5 South at the Victoria Hospital, and the Home Care aids. A special thank you to the Riverview Palliative Care Nurses and Doctors for their daily visits, care and guidance; you were an incredible support, making it possible for Carolina to be cared for at home and to Dr. Fuzeta for the many years of care. We would also like to thank family and friends that gave their time and compassion.
