Obituary for Carol Evelyn Hopman
It is with very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Carol at the age of 77, at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg on October 26, 2022.
Mom will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her two sons and lights of her life Rick (Penny), and Beau (Shauna); Grandchildren Jeremy (Kelsey), Joe (Alyssa), Amy and Ashley; Great grandchildren Ella, Emily, Hunter, Arya and Annie. Carol also leaves behind her brothers Donald and Bob (Deanna); sisters Irene (Alan) and Francis; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Mom was born on January 19,1945 in Birch River, Manitoba, and soon after moved to Winnipeg where she lived with her parents until she married the love of her life and soul mate George. They remained happily married until his passing in 2017. Mom enjoyed the work she did for the Department of Defence until she retired at the age of 72.
Mom was an avid reader and enjoyed going to bingo but spending time with family was her passion. Mom would always do anything for her loved ones, she was only happy when she knew everyone else was happy. Mom was predeceased by her husband George; Parents Joseph (Charlie) and Esther; sisters Sharon and Hazel and brother Earl.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., at the Coutu Funeral Home, located at 680 Archibald Street.
