Obituary for Carl Hamilton

On January 9, 2023, our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend Carl Hamilton passed away peacefully after a short illness. He was 87.

Carl was born April 7, 1936, predeceased by his mother May and father Frederick Hamilton of Forest Reserve, Trinidad, and Tobago. He is survived by his wife Annette (Jocelyn), daughter Nicole and stepson Ian Maynard, beloved grandchildren Bria and Braeden Fernandes, and step grandchildren Jared, Jasmine, Justin, Joshua, and Jessica, great step grandchildren Mary Claire, Elizabeth Ann (Ellie), and Cecilia Alexandra (CeCe), along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carl was also one of ten siblings. He was predeceased by Clifton (Cliffy), June and Justlyn, Eworth and Claire. He is survived by Angella, Ainsley, Marvo, and Indra.

Carl worked for the Canadian National Railway for nearly 30 years. He was an avid sportsman, mastering the position of wicket keeper in first division cricket, in Trinidad and Tobago during his youth, developing a love of golf in his later years. Carl had several memorable and lovable nicknames one of which was “Pud,” but for those who knew him best, Carl was a hard working, humble, gentle, and peaceful individual, who was highly devoted to his daily regime of prayers.

In deference to his quiet nature, a modest funeral liturgy will be held at St. Vital Church, 1629 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg on January 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm.

Carl will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a charitable donation can be made on Carl’s behalf to any charity of choice.
