Obituary for Camille Desloges

Camille Desloges

With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Camille Desloges (nee Tonnon dit Marcotty) on November 26, 2012 at Actionmarguerite.

Camille was predeceased by her husband Maurice on June 22, 2001. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her sons Georges (Fab), André (Mona), Alain (Lisa), her daughters, Daisy Brunet (Marc) and Gil Glays. She will also be lovingly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.

Born in Arlon, Belgium on February 24, 1910, Camille immigrated to Canada in 1951 with her husband Maurice and their five children. They settled in St. Boniface in close proximity to the Belgian Sacred Heart Church and the Belgian Club. With a strong faith to guide her and amazing courage, Camille worked alongside her husband raising their children, learning to speak and read English and adapting to the customs of their new country. She was active in her community and her church. At 99 years of age she was still enjoying the company of her very special friends for Wednesday afternoon bingo at the Belgian Club.

Throughout her life Maman put her family and her beloved husband?s needs first. An affectionate person she demonstrated her love through her actions, her words and especially through the hugs and kisses we received every time we were with her. Her enthusiasm was contagious and she loved us unconditionally. Maman often reminisced about the summers spent at Gull Lake where she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of all of them and during her final days she was enveloped by their love and care.

We would like to thank the dedicated staff of Actionmarguerite for their exceptional support and compassion. Her final days were filled with love, comfort and dignity because of her many wonderful caregivers. If friends so desire donations can be made to Actionmarguerite, 450 River Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5M4 or a charity of your choice.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3rd at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald, St. Boniface. Pallbearers will be Suzanne Alton, Roger Desloges, Marc Desloges, David Brunet, Christy Desloges and Gary Glays.

You have her in your Keeping, we have her in our hearts.
