Obituary for Brock Nickolas Shachtay

BROCK NICKOLAS SHACHTAY

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving son, brother, father, godfather, uncle and great uncle, Brock Shachtay, on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Far too soon, at the tender age of 52 years, Brock leaves behind his son, Aaron (Rebecca), parents, Frieda and Nick, sisters; Barb (Claude), Gale (Gerry), Audrey (Ray), goddaughter Angela, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Brock was a great guy and worked hard. But most of all he enjoyed time with his family, winter vacations, Nutimik Lake, ball hockey, gaming, and dancing to one of his favorite songs, Footloose. He was also a huge Winnipeg Jets fan.

We would like to thank all the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital who cared for Brock in emergency, floor 5, and ICU.

In keeping with Brock’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Brock may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.

“Because someone we love is in Heaven,

There’s a little bit of Heaven in our house.”
