Obituary for Beatrice Marie Agnes Weicker (Bourrier)

Beatrice Weicker
(nee Bourrier)
January 31, 1923 – June 26, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beatrice Weicker on Saturday, June 26 at Actionmarguerite St. Vital, at the age of 98 years.
She leaves to mourn five generations of family; her husband of 79 years Denis Weicker, her two daughters, Denise (Wayne) and Yvette (Larry). Her grandchildren Andrea (Vance), Corinne (Jason), Sheri (Carey), Sean (Jobelle), Kurt, and Blair (Jackie). She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren, Brandyn(Ally), Brett(Lisa), Breanna, Brysen, Grace, Ellie, Avery, Aiden and one soon-to-be great-great grandson, Jax.
Beatrice was born in Saint-Lupicin, MB on January 31st, 1923. She and Denis married in 1942 and moved to Winnipeg, MB. She led a life of devotion to her family, loyalty to her husband, generosity to her community and was content and appreciative of the simpler things in life. She loved quiet walks, knitting, cooking and dancing. But first and foremost, caring for her family. She held a deep love and affection for her four legged friends.
The family would like to extend their upmost gratitude to the 2nd floor staff of Actionmarguerite St. Vital who, for 11 years, showed an amazing and tireless level of care & compassion not only to Bea but her family as well.
In keeping with Beatrice’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba on her behalf.
Friends and family are welcome to share stories and sign the online book of condolences at ejcoutu.ca.

I've sat and waited here for you patiently, it's been a long while
I've seen you as a child dance in the sun, and teach them all to smile
I've watched all these years the Joy and Love that you have brought them all
I knew you'd guide them and comfort them when they fail and when they fall

But now you’re tired and need some rest, your body's old and frail
I'll call you back to sit with me their hearts will break but they will mend
They will think of the Joy and Love you brought and learn to smile again
We will watch them all dance in sun and wait patiently for them each to come
