Obituary for Barry Gregory Kalichak

BARRY GREGORY KALICHAK

With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Barry Gregory Kalichak, at his residence on November 4, 2021, at the age of 65 years. Barry is survived by his loving mother Eleanor, his brother Darryl and sister in law Theresa, two nieces, and two nephews.

He was born in Dauphin on May 24, 1956, to Eleanor and Edmund Kalichak. Barry began his education in a one room country school. However, before long he was riding a school bus with his dad as the driver and attending school in Dauphin. He completed high school in Dauphin. Within a short period of time, he was employed by CN Rail in Dauphin. He worked there for three years and was then transferred to Symington Yard Office. He remained with CN in various administrative positions for 25 years, until his retirement.

Barry was always a kind and cheerful individual. He often took his holidays in the fall, so that he could help his parents take in their harvest. He loved driving the combine. He often took his mom on vacation with him in order to bring joy to her life.

Barry was a huge hockey fan, and would never miss Saturday Hockey Night in Canada. He loved to get an order of Kentucky Fried Chicken and watch all sorts of sports on TV. He could always tell you what was going on in the news.

Funeral service will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive at 11:00 am on November 27th . Burial will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin, at a later date.
Rest in peace dear son. We will miss you very much.
