Betty Rowan passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Oakview Place Care Home with family by her side.
Betty was born on July 16, 1930 in Sheffield, England, youngest sister to Jack, Joyce and Doreen. She married Douglas Rowan in 1947 and together they came to Canada, settling in Winnipeg. Betty is survived by four children; Keith (Sandy), Kevin (Loree), Kathy (Shawn) and Kim, as well as grandchildren; Jason (Batsi, and great -granddaughter Maia), James, Chris (Amy), Andrew (Zoe), Heather (Jesse) and Mike (Kenzie). She was predeceased by her husband Douglas, and infant daughter, Susan.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gathering her family together for Sunday dinners or holiday feasts.
She loved animals and volunteered at the Winnipeg Humane Society. She was an avid bowler and made many friends in her ladies bowling league.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Oakview Place for the wonderful care she received.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering at a later date. If friends so desire, a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
