Angela Phyllis Birt (nee Turkewich), 65, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away on July 6, 2023, in Winnipeg Manitoba.
Born on November 2, 1957, in Gimli, Manitoba, Angela was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Angela had passion and pride for her family's ancestry from Ukraine, dedicating countless hours researching and gathering information, becoming the family’s unofficial genealogist. She found joy in gardening and took pride in tending to her beautiful flower gardens during the summer months throughout her lifetime. Angela loved her family and always cherished family gatherings, particularly those held at the family farm in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba, where she grew up.
She loved making new memories with her daughters and granddaughter on the weekends. Angela truly enjoyed spending time with her friends whether it be in person, online or catching up on the phone. Angela was always concerned about the well being of her friends and family and always put the needs of others before herself.
Angela is survived by her mother, Mary, her daughters, Pamela (Steven) and Jennifer (Justin), and her granddaughter, Charlotte. She also leaves behind her sisters, Shirley and Gloria (Lorne), and her brothers, Richard (Wendy) and Gerald. Angela's sister-in-law, Colleen, her brother in-law Chris (Yeti), and many nieces and nephews will also fondly remember her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy, father, Phillip, her father-in-law, Fred, her mother-in-law, Freda, and her brother-in-laws, Ian and Tony.
In her professional life, Angela dedicated 24 years working for the Federal Government, most recently with Agriculture and Agri Food Canada before her retirement.
Angela will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warm presence, love for her family, and dedication to her interests will forever be remembered.
