Obituary for Alma Mary Fayant (Neault)

ALMA MARY FAYANT
(nee NEAULT)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Alma Fayant at the Grace Hospital on Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

Alma was born in St. Rose du Lac, Manitoba on June 24, 1919. Alma was raised on a ranch in Cayer and grew up raising cattle. She married George Fayant in July 26, 1938 and they were married for 19 years before George suddenly passed away. Alma continued to stay on the ranch and raise her family there before coming to Winnipeg in 1965 with her partner Gabe. They moved to Roblin, Manitoba and set up home there. Gabe passed away and Alma remained in Roblin until she suffered from a stroke which prompted a move to various care homes, and then finally to Park View Nursing Home in Winnipeg.

Alma was a very keen gardener and loved to be surrounded by flowers. Berry picking on a summer day was another favourite pastime with the children. Other hobbies included knitting and garage sales as well as visiting second-hand stores, Alma loved a bargain!
She was very generous in spirit and would give you her last cent. Her lovely sense of humour was always with her and she was known to tell a few jokes herself.

Alma is survived by sons Edward, Agenor (Valerie); her two sisters, Lucy and Lorette; brother Steiny; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. Alice Henderson also had a special place in Alma’s heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, Maxime Neault and Emma Paget; her husband George Fayant, and her late partner Gabe Sinclair; daughter Josephine and her eldest son.

In accordance with Alma’s wishes, cremation has already taken place and a private family service will be held. Interment will follow at a later date.

Donations, if you so wish, may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Manitoba.
