May 24, 1915 – December 15, 2014

Alice was carried by the angels to the arms of God and predeceased family on Monday, December 15, 2014, a life of 99 years well lived and very much appreciated.

Alice was born and raised in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, passed away at the Victoria Hospital and was a resident of the Golden Door Personal Care Home.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Horace in 1988 and her son-in-law Albert Bettens in 2009. She is survived by three children; daughter Eileen McNeill and her children; Maureen, Cheryll (Noel), Greg and Karen; daughter Beverley Bettens and her Children; Michael (Bridget), Randy (Daphne), Jamie (Cynthia) and Fr. Kevin Bettens; one son Kenneth Carpenter; 14 great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alice was the matriarch of the family and the glue that bonded everyone together. Though we are saddened by her passing, we will happily celebrate her life on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, with viewing one hour prior. Her funeral mass will be officiated by her grandson, Father Kevin Bettens.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at both the Golden Door Personal Care Home and the Victoria Hospital for the excellent care and compassion given to Alice while in their care.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Alice may be made to Jocelyn House, 177 Egerton Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 2W7.

Our guardian angel forever.
