Obituary for Albert John Bialek

ALBERT BIALEK

1926-2013


We are thankful that God found Al on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Golden Door Geriatric Centre and brought him home to heaven. Al is no longer lost and has found freedom.

Al is survived by his wife Joyce, sister Mary and his children Tammy (Tim), Laura (Bob), Tom (Safa), Sandy (Joe) and Joyce?s children Rena and Robert. Al was blessed to have a nine grandchildren Michael (Mary-Lou), Stephen, Mara, Kayleigh (Jamie), Shaylene, Tristan, Trenton, Dena and Shaelyn and one great-granddaughter Iris. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas Bialek and Jullia Nowicki and his siblings Ann, Joyce and Casey.

Albert was born in the town of Hazelridge, MB on July 9, 1926. In 1955 Al married Joan and went on to raise a family. He met Joyce at the St. Bernadette bowling league and they?ve been together for 25 years. Al had many jobs before joining Canadian Pacific Railway as a Laboratory Technician in 1962. He retired in 1991 after 29 years of service.

Al was very active with the men?s club at St. Bernadette?s Parish and he also belonged to the Knights of Columbus where he initiated new members. Al enjoyed golfing, traveling and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. When his children were young they made many trips to Matheson Island, family trips by train and enjoyed many camping trips.

Al?s family would like to thank the staff at Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their compassionate care.

A funeral mass celebrating Al?s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road with viewing one hour prior to the mass. Burial will follow the reception in Cooks Creek, MB.
