Obituary for Agostino Brambilla

On June 2, 2019 at the Grace Hospital, Agostino of 93 years was peacefully embraced by our Lord.

Gus leaves to cherish his memory to his dear wife of 34 years, Angelina; his children Armando, Teresa, Josie, Laura, Roberto and Rita and their families; Angelina’s daughters Dolores, Penny, and their families; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers Antonino and Vincenzo, along with many nieces and nephews.

Gus was predeceased by his mother and father; his sister Zina; brothers Giuseppe and Nicola; his first wife Providenza Di Novo; his second wife Assunta Abamonte; his in-laws Giuseppina and Agostino Di Novo and Giuseppina and Gaetano Cianflone.

Gus was a multi-talented man. He was a great chef and owned his own restaurant in St. Boniface for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Gimli. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labour with friends and relatives. For many years Gus led the team to prepare the delicious food for the Italian Pavilion during the Folklorama Festival. He was a member of the Fratellanza Amatese, and performed in the theatre group. He was a Christian in the Roman Catholic tradition, and a very faithful member of the Holy Rosary Parish, attending mass every Sunday. Essentially Gus was a man who enjoyed the simpler things in life.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at the Grace Hospital and all the support staff from home care. Special thanks to friends and family for all their love and support.

Pallbearers; Larry Smykalski, Greg Block, Alfonso Fiorentino, Alfonso Anania, Tony Rizzuto, and Tony Cianflone.

Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Viewing and condolences begin at 10:00 a.m.

Entombment will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens 455 Lagimodiere Blvd.
