Agathe is now reunited with Raymond Rochon, her loving husband of 52 years. She will be missed by her daughter Liliane Lear, son-in-law Bert Lear, as well as her grandson Don Lear and wife Sue; granddaughter Renee Lear; great- grandchildren Issac and Scarlett Lear and her nieces Colette Durand and JoAnne Cormier and her many other nieces and nephews and friends will miss and cherish her always.

Agathe was born in LaSalle, MB on August 2,1922 and raised on the family farm until she married her childhood sweetheart, Ray, in 1944. Agathe and Ray lived most of their lives in LaSalle, where they raised their daughter, Liliane. A homemaker while her daughter was young, Agathe later worked as a bookkeeper for Eaton’s in Winnipeg.

Agathe served the parish of St.Hyacinthe Catholic Church in LaSalle as an organist for 56 years. After leaving the post, they moved to Winnipeg in 1990. A skilled musician , Agathe enjoyed playing the piano and the organ. She also took a deep and active interest in her family history, working for many years to create a large and carefully curated archive of documents and photographs that chart the Cormier’s story from the 17th century to the present day. This work will continue to benefit the family for many years to come.

Agathe was a very cultured , elegant, gracious, and kind lady who always had an interest in people. Her love of art, classical music, books, and her many travels only added to the depth of who she was. She will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to the great people at Actionmarguerite St.Boniface for their compassionate and loving care given to Agathe in the last year.
