Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Peacefully, with his children by his side, Leo passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Dan and Kathy; sisters, Frances, Angela (Chip), and Joan; brother Albert (Léonne); sister-in-law May; grandchildren, Tyler (Emilia), Travis, and Taylor; his beloved great-grandchildren Leo and Cecelia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Margaret.

Dad was a self-made man, running Leo Kelsch Sales Agency for over 50 years, he was well respected by many in the fashion industry. He was also very active in the church and Knights of Columbus, serving as Grand Knight twice. He was passionate about sports. An avid curler, he represented Manitoba at the 1961 McDonald Brier. He loved travelling with Margaret, taking many holidays. His greatest joy came from the time spent at the family cottage on Zig Zag Island, many lasting memories and friendships were made there.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the St. Boniface ICU for the care and compassion given to dad while in their care.

In keeping with Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral mass celebrating his life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 820 Cottonwood Road.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Leo may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Dan condolences to you and family, both your mom and dad were great people to deal with during markets seasons, as well as the time I spent at their home sorting through samples. Or seeing them at Southdale Family . It was an honor to know them.

Leo was a fine man. Proud of his province and a great representative of PAM/SAM.
