Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Julian (Jim) James Delorme

Our family is devastated to announce the sudden death of Jim on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 74 years.

After a beautiful week of reminiscing, laughing, hugging and crying with all of the people who he loved and who loved him, Jim went to sleep. It was not unexpected but it came much quicker than anyone had anticipated.  He put up an amazing fight.

Jim was born in Winnipeg on July 14, 1945.  When he was 18 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and for the next 7 years he was posted in Victoria, BC.  Due to an injury on board ship he was honorably discharged in 1970.  What stories he could tell about his time in the navy.

Besides his wife Carol, Jim is survived by Brenda and Dennis Adams, Wayne and Tracy, Michael.  Also our 6 grandchildren:  Darnell (Jeanette), Tyler (Holly), Brady, Kristopher, Julian, Angela.

And our first great-grandson Zane who brought much laughter to his great-grandpa.  Also  a very special young lady, Lori Beal who we considered part of our family for many years. Many extended family and friends who have been such support and comfort during this trying time will miss his sense of humor.  Almost to the end he was still making us smile and laugh through our tears. Thanks to Jim’s cousin Tom Dahl for reminding him of the good times when they were young. He really enjoyed those talks.

Jim is now up there making jokes with all of the special people who went before him.

Utmost gratitude to Riverview Health Centre for making Jim’s last days comfortable and guiding us through this process. In lieu of flowers, donations to Riverview Health Centre or CancerCare MB., would be appreciated.

Cremation has already taken place and a celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street, on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Darnell, Tyler and Brady Adams, Kristopher and Angela Goulet and Julian Perry.

Our most sincere sympathies to you Carol, Brenda Wayne and Michael and all the family for your loss.
Jim was a good, kind, accepting and strong person.
Jim was an honest and caring man who touched the lives of everyone he met. He was always smiling whenever we met with him and Carol and that smile is what we will always remember. We enjoyed the numerous times we met Carol and Jim for gatherings and for dinners at different restaurants in the city. He was very proud of the work he did managing apartments. We enjoyed listening to him talk about the travelling he did with Carol and of course reminiscing about old TV shows and movies. He was one of the most kindest and thoughtful people we have ever met.
Jim was extremely proud of and loved the children , Grandchildren and great Grandchild. Jim was a true man who demonstrated true courage and acceptance during this final battle. We love you and will miss you Jim.

Having Jim as a brother-in-law was nice but God saw he was tired and a cure could be found. So he put his arms around Jim and whispered ‘Come to me’ so he went knowing his loving wife will be loved and supported by their children. Leaving his loving wife behind he knew God would invite her to come home to be with him. in heaven also. Good bye Jim from Herbert, Linda,Sherry-Lynne and Joseph Boyer

Larry and I both have very heavy hearts. We will miss Jim dearly. Our prayers go out to Carol, Brenda, Wayne, and Michael. Life will not be the same without him, but there is comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
