Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Daniel Perrin, at the age of 60, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on February 2, 2019, following a courageous battle with cancer. Daniel leaves to cherish his memory his wife Terry Sullivan, and her two children Cole and Dillin. Also left to grieve his passing are his siblings Roland (Murielle); Denise (Jean); Gilbert (Linda); Louise; Yvette (Albert). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and loved each and every one of them individually. Daniel was predeceased by his parents Germain (1976), Estelle (2015), brother Victor (2016) and sister Pauline (1962).

Daniel was employed by Winnipeg Transit for 30 years. He was a gentle soul who enjoyed life. He loved to cook, cycle and travel to Mexico with Terry. His easy manner and wry quips were his gateway to forming friendships. Daniel will be fondly remembered by friends and acquaintances. We will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Daniel’s life will be held February 8, at 2 p.m. at Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald St, Winnipeg.

A sincere thank you to Cancer Care and to the entire staff of the Palliative Care ward of the St Boniface Hospital.

It was wonderful to get to know Dan more and more as time went by. My foremost memories are those of laughing at the ridiculousness of things while in their kitchen cutting Dan’s hair. At times all it took was a look as he sat down and away we went into banter suffused with Dan’s particular brand of humor; at times having to stop while roaring with laughter. Dan possessed a special type of kindness and empathy while always minimizing his own emotional condition. I’ve had the good fortune to watch him struggle with himself during Cole and Dillin’s growing up and the love and respect that grew between the three of them. Watching Terry tease him and support him and the two showing the strength of their relationship was a privilege. So many will mourn and miss this dynamic man and I count myself lucky to be included in that number. Farewell Dan.
