Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

CHARLES (CHUCK) DEJONCKHEERE

Charles (Chuck) DeJonckheere, age 74, passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, Friday, November 1, 2019. He was born January 25, 1945, to Charles (Senior), and Paula DeJonckheere.

Chuck met the love of his life, Gwendolyne Snare in 1966, and they were immediately inseparable and were married March 3, 1968.Their favourite thing to do was to go dancing at the Hungry Eye, people would clear the dance floor just to watch them dance.

Chuck was a renowned businessman. During the 80s, he was awarded the title of ‘Winnipeg’s top sales representative’ after working at Price Daxion, he was then given the position of General Manager of Sales Representatives at General Fasteners. In 1990, Chuck decided it was time to pursue his dreams of starting his own company. He founded Pyramid Packaging Supplies, in which he had been given the opportunity to employ all three of his children (and some grandchildren) over the years.

Chuck was a family-oriented man. His home had an open-door policy to all of the neighbourhood kids, whom he treated like his own. Chuck and Gwen loved their family outings and vacations. They would take their children on numerous camping trips and would meet other family members where nights of bonfires and scary stories ensued, while roasting marshmallows on the fire.

Left to honour Chuck and remember his love are his sisters Lorraine Snare, and Janice (Ash) Ali, his brother David (Brenda) DeJonckheere; his children Charles (Bobbi-Jo) DeJonckheere, Carolyne Leurquin, and Jason DeJonckheere. As well as his grandchildren: Matthew, Rhea, Kyle, Gwen, Kayley, and Emily.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Paula DeJonckheere, and his wife Gwendolyne DeJonckheere.

In keeping with Charles’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street, with eulogies commencing at 10:30 a.m.
