Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Bryan Denis Joseph Demarcke

April 14, 1953 – March 21, 2019

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bryan Demarcke at Riverview Health Centre, surrounded by family.

Bryan will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his wife, Lynne; three children, Nicole (Remi) Toupin, Michèle (Stu Gresham), and Daniel (Alaina); granddaughters Jayney, Laura, Peyton and Adrianna; sisters Lorraine (Walter) Kisil and Janet Demarcke; brother Paul (Diana Cowell); in-laws, Gisèle & Denis Fontaine, Carole and Gilles Quenelle, Jackie Fillion, and Jeanette Roy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bryan was predeceased by his parents, Petrus (Pete) and Simone Demarcke, his brother Cyriel and his in-laws, Roger Fillion, Jules and Thérèse Ménard, Normand Fillion and Brian Fraser.

Bryan was born and raised in Winnipeg, where he worked for Antex Western Ltd. for 45 years, from truck driver to owner and manager of Special Projects. He married the love of his life, Lynne (née Fillion), on February 2, 1974, enjoying 45 years of blissful marriage. He was a dedicated family man and cherished every moment spent together. His granddaughters were the apples of his eye, he was very proud of them and loved them dearly.

Bryan lived life to the fullest where he could be found cooking the most delicious dishes or making wooden bowls, pens and pow wow drums in his workshop. He loved travelling with his wife especially to Europe and his winters were spent in Mesa, Arizona. He also spent his time with friends on the golf course, playing cards or talking at the bullshit table at the Belgium Club. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Conseils Goulet & Saints-Martyrs Canadiens, for over 35 years.

Bryan had a great sense of humour. He was always willing to help family and friends and left an impression on so many people who still look up to him to this day.

The family would like to thank the health care providers who took care of him over the last year, as well as Frère Germain Kpakafi for his pastoral visits.

In keeping with Bryan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 with eulogy beginning at 10:45 a.m. followed by the funeral mass in the Parish of Saints-Martyrs Canadiens, 289 Dussault ave.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bryan’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.

Bryan, ta présence restera dans nos coeurs pour toujours.
