Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Albert John Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Al on March 15, 2019 at his home in Southside.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gerrie of 58 years, daughters Shauna (Ron), Joanne, Pam (Jim), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and many friends.

Dad grew up in Beausejour, later moving to Winnipeg where he worked as a mechanic. He spent numerous years at Northland trailer park where he shared many laughs and good times with his family and friends. Al enjoyed all sports, bird watching, a beer or shot with his buddies, and his dream of winning the lotto.

Dad was a man of honesty, integrity and pride; and lived a full and happy life.

Please join us for a celebration of Al’s life on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at E.J. Coutu & Co. Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow reception at Transcona Cemetery.

Al was a true buddy of mine. Best advice I got on life was through ol Al. “be your self, and be honest”. as simple as it may be, the words resonated. Al truly adored my daughter Anastasie (2 1/2) Every time Ana and I would come over, Al always had a shot ready for me “have a good one” , and a pudding cup for Ana. He always spoke of his family with pure happiness. Our long conversation of the times of old, music, politics, sports, or how things should be, will always be a happy place for me in my heart in mind.
Rest easy buddy, I’ll make sure the grey squirrels leave the little red ones alone
